New Senior Finance Manager for Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre
Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre in Plymouth has appointed Jamie Messham as its new Senior Finance Manager.
Jamie trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG where he worked within its audit department. He also undertook a secondment at the firm’s London office where he worked on a number of corporate transactions.
He joins Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre from Succession Group, a national consolidator of IFA businesses. His role was to carry out financial due diligence, valuations, deal execution and integration of acquired businesses.
Jamie’s new role will see him supporting the senior management team at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, helping to enhance performance, make the best use of financial information and business analysis, and successfully implement new projects.
Mark White, Hospital Director at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre and who was previously Senior Finance Manager, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jamie to our team. His skills and expertise will be invaluable to us as we continue to provide the highest possible quality of care to our patients in an ever-changing and challenging healthcare environment.”
Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre welcomed its first NHS patients in April 2005. Tens of thousands of patients have received top quality care at the hospital for orthopaedic surgery (minor and major), hernia repair and gall bladder removal, cataract treatment, endoscopy and diagnostic imaging (such as X-rays).
The hospital was the first of its kind to achieve an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission and continues to treat NHS patients.
Jamie joins at an exciting time for the hospital as it introduces a self-pay treatment option for patients exploring ways of paying for their own care. The self-pay option is not as costly as traditional private hospital treatment and does not require a patient to have private health insurance.
This means that for patients who may have been put off by private hospital care in the past, there is now a route to quickly accessing high-quality and affordable care.
