Trio of wins for Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre

Three team members from Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre are winners at the national Care UK Health Care Awards.

Vikki Beegan is senior shift leader for the Endoscopy and Day Surgery Units and she has won the Patient Focus award. She was nominated by her colleague Margaret Mahoney who said: “When I complete follow up calls for patients the day after their surgery I often hear how great the patient care was when visiting the centre with Vikki’s name being mentioned on several occasions.”

Margaret, who is Clinical Governance Manager, won the Nurse of the Year Award. She was nominated by her colleague Caroline Harris who commented: “I have worked in Care UK for over 12 years in a variety of roles and within almost all of the centres and during this time I have never met anyone like Margaret, she is the most professional, knowledgeable, kind, caring and clever nurse I have had the pleasure to work with.”

Winner of the Unsung Hero in the Workplace award is Debbie Meadows, Deputy Hospitality Supervisor. Debbie was nominated for the award by Karen McGill, who said: “Debbie has a great personality with both staff and patients who might be a bit nervous before having their operation, or relatives who are waiting for their loved one and want a bit of reassurance. She has built up the Care Café to become a busy part of Peninsula, offering seasonal food and lunch specials which prove very popular to staff, patients and the surrounding companies in the business park.”

Mark White, Hospital Director at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, commented: “For us, every single member of our team is a winner and we are particularly proud of our Terrific Trio, who have been so successful in the hotly-contested Care UK Health Care Awards. They each exemplify the extra effort we make to ensure that our patients receive the absolutely highest standards of care.”
